Branson Scholarship Program (BSP I & II)

The Business Start-Up Center Monrovia in partnership with SPARK, The Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship, Virgin Unite & Humanity United launched the Branson Scholarship Program in Liberia in 2014. The Branson Scholarship Program is designed to directly address social and economic development challenges faced in conflict-affected states such as Liberia by developing aspiring entrepreneurs who will act as catalysts to spearhead the development and acceleration of a viable private sector-led economy in their home country. This ambitious program provides entrepreneurs with the skills to grow world-class businesses and generate local employment opportunities. Moreover, the Branson Scholarship Program provides Liberian entrepreneurs with the tools to contribute to economic development in their country; fostering an entrepreneurial environment that empowers a large proportion of the population. The Branson Scholarship Program gives its scholars the tools, vision and the inspiration to accelerate their business and unlock its true potential. Through this program, successful entrepreneurs take their businesses to the next level of expansion, growth and success, to the benefit of their society and the economy at large. During the first year, the BSC Monrovia work along with Fifteen (15) Mid-level business entrepreneurs to further develop and expand their businesses by taking them to South Africa for an advanced business management training. This was also follow up in year two with another batch of entrepreneurs but this time the number of businesses increases from Fifteen (15) to Twenty (20) businesses for another advanced business management training in South Africa.
